Yahoo VP David Katz said Yahoo will soon be supporting video chat on their mobile apps, including the iPhone.

the iPhone app has already been approved by Apple and that it would be would be available “soon.”

This app will allow the iPhone 4 to make video calls not only with other iPhone 4′s but with Android devices, Mac and Windows PCs, and anything that Yahoo supports. This app will also work over a 3G cellular connection and not be restricted to WiFi.

Apple is releasing FaceTime back as an open standard so that it will work over WiFi but it seems to be taking way too long. Let see if Yahoo will do this right.
