It’s been three awesome years since Apple released the iPhone, and now there are other phones that can do some things better than the iPhone. But what keeps the iPhone selling more devices than any other cellular phone manufacturer.

Could it be that Apple makes high quality devices, probably the best tech products on the market to date. That being said, the iPhone has revolutionized the gadget world, iPhone users actually obsess over a software update or a hardware release. One feature that keeps the iPhone so popular is the simple user interface.

Other phones have higher-resolution cameras and can shoot HD video. The processor in the new phones such as the Droid is much faster. A more energy efficient touch screen technology is eclipsing the one used on the iPhone. The competitors are matching features that once was only available on the iPhone, including an app store, slim design, touchscreen technology etc. and yet the iPhone is still the number one most wanted and loved smartphone available.

iPhone user, Ingrid Ougland-Sellie, 41, a writer and part-time hospital employee, uses her iPhone to take photos of mystery vegetables she gets from a community-supported farm program. She e-mails pictures to the farmers to be identified, then looks up recipes on an iPhone app. She uses it for scheduling, finding addresses and swapping photos of her son with her husband, also an iPhone owner.
“I’m sure technology has come a long way,” Sellie says. “But I am kind of a creature of habit at this point. I know how to use this phone. I’m comfortable with it.”

Studies show that most iPhone users are returning iPhone owners, either from upgrading from one iPhone to an updated model or someone that originally used the iPhone then tried another brand smartphone but eventually came back to using the iPhone as their primary phone.

There is just no other device that can compare/compete with the iPhone. Of course there are other phones that have one or two things better that the iPhone, but the iPhone wins hands down in general. Everything it has or does is precise and elegant. The web browser is stunning and cant be matched, and the touchscreen operates as smooth as velvet.
