I think the sim card issue I was having is now resolved, I went down to an AT&T retail store and had a new sim card inserted. At first it seemed to be working fine…….for a few hours, then it appeared again. “No sim installed”. I hurried and called my local Apple store and made an appointment. I went in and showed my issue to the guy behind the almighty genius bar, and he issued me a brand new one. So far so good. No issues. I think I just had one of the defective ones that have this dreaded sim card issues. At first when it happened, I was able to toggle on and off the airplane mode and it would bring up the connection until it happened again. By the time I brought it in for a replacement, nothing worked. It went from saying “no sim installed” to “no service” and I knew I was in an area where I get strong cell service. In conclusion to this mess, If you are having this issue, you might just want to cut to the chase and go down to your Apple store and demand a new iPhone 4.
