iPhone App Slaps AT&T In The Face

The iPhone app Line2 can be purchased for as little as a dollar and will be sure to shake up the entire cellular industry. It can save you money, it can make calls where you may not even have a cell signal. As long as you have WiFi it can place a VOIP call anytime for free. It can turn an iPod Touch into a full blown cellphone.
Line2 gives your iPhone a second phone number, another line complete with its own voice mail, contact list etc. The company Toktumi (talk-to-me) predicts you’ll give the Line2 number to business contacts, and your regular AT&T number to family and friends. You can even make your second line an 800 number, now i’m digging this.
Toktumi offers on its website a selection of Google features that are intended to help small businesses look bigger: call screening, Do Not Disturb hours, and voice mail messages can even be sent to you via Email. You can also create a personal attendant- “Press 1 for sales” 2 to speak with the iPhone Addict, and so on.. Ok I’m sold on the idea. That routes incoming calls to other phone numbers Or, if your pretending to be a bigger business than you really are, you can route them all to yourself.
So why was Google Voice app not approved by Apple and this one is? Hmmm, Well you never know with Steve Jobs, he always has something real interesting up his sleeve.

So you have a second line on your iPhone, but here is the best part-

Line2 also turns the iPhone into a duel-mode phone, meaning it can make and receive calls using either the AT&T cell signal or over the internet. Anytime your in the vicinity of WiFi Line2 automatically uses the WiFi connection over the AT&T network.

Line2 is not free, the services cost $15 a month after a 30 day trial period

They do have some downfalls about this app as well-

1) There is a faint hissing sound

2) It has about a half second voice delay

3) The dialing pad doesn’t make the touch tone sound when pressed

4) There are no favorites list

5) You can’t send or receive Text messages

Well just like everything, it has it’s good points with the bad. If your interested. Just download it and try it out for 30 days and if you don’t like it don’t sign up for the monthly fee.

If anyone has tried this out please leave me a comment and let the world know what you think of it.
