The next generation iPhone, the “iPhone 4S” according to Macotakara will be released with an iPhone 4 form factor, an ARM Cortex-A9 and an 8 megapixel camera. The ARM Cortex A9 is the foundation for the A5 processor in the iPad 2. Apple is already testing an iPhone 4 with the A5 chip with gamers so more than likely the iPhone 4S will be dual core.

There is also a report that is claiming the iPhone 4S will be dual-mode support for CDMA and GSM networks. This is an ongoing suspicion ever since we found out Verizon uses a Qualcomm Gobi chip, a chip that is capable of supporting both networks.

iPhone 5 rumors, Another report adds that a full iPhone revamp is expected to be in Spring 2012. So it is looking like Apple has changed their iPhone release cycles to September.
