iPhone 4 proximity sensor fix

One of the known problems iphone 4 users are complaining about is the faulty proximity sensor. The issue is when you are on a call and the phone is up to your ear, therefore the screen is pressing on your cheek, and the screen will not go inactive allowing the buttons to be pressed while on a call. People have been complaining about accidently muting calls, hanging up, or even making another call while on a presently on one. MacWorld has issued a few things that could give it a quick fix:

1) Reset “network settings”
2) Reset “All Settings”
3) Soft reboot (hold down sleep button)
4) Hard reboot (hold down sleep + home)

Some of these will fix certain software glitches that do not require the firmware update soon to be released by Apple. The upcoming update is supposed to have a fix for the fluctuating signal strength, and the proximity sensor. Still nothing said about the sim card error that seems to be plaguing more and more iPhone 4′s. The only fix for that issue seems to be just getting a new replacement iPhone from Apple.
