iPhone 3GS does NOT support the new SMS tones in iOS 4.2

Many of you with the iPhone 3G and 3GS were not happy after downloading the new iOS 4.2 software update. You quickly found out there was some kind of issue with the SMS tones on the iPhone 3G and 3GS, well you were right on the money. There is an issue, Apple does NOT want you to have them, Apple has chosen to make the SMS tones only available for the iPhone 4…No iPhone 4…..No new SMS tones.
What’s the point you ask? well it doesn’t seem like anyone has a true answer…yet… Im sure an email from Mr Jobs in on the way though.

absolute f’n bs! im seriously considering changing back to windows and going to android….. this shows where apples stance is and its not good. i dont pay top dollar to get f’ed around with
i personally think it’s b.s. we paid for our iphones just like the iphone 4 users and we should get the features too. i can understand hd features, but sms tone, seriously?!?! we aren’t good enough to get the new AIR features or the sms tones?!?! I’m going to switch phones. I have been an iphone user for a few years and the more restrictive apple gets the more i hate them!!!!!
I’m just sick of it. I may have to revert back to my blackberry.
I have been an apple user for 5+ years computers, phones, ipods etc. They are becoming a joke! Boycott Apple. Biggest con artists on the market!
Ok everyone who is considering to change, well change not happy because you didn’t get a few obnoxious sounds.apple doesn’t care they have millions of customer who are very satisfied without a few ringtones.
It only proves that Jailbreaking is a valid option to customize the phone the way you want it.

funny how people used to advocate Apple because of similar gripes with Microsoft – has the worm turned? Surely it’s easier to write code that is supported by both platforms rather than actually go to the trouble of blocking it on certain platforms – it just suggests they want to encourage people to buy a newer phone (or change platforms altogether!!)
ARGH, the lack of sms tones and the crap bluetooth were my only faults
then they update it, but NO of course we dont get them..only Iphone 4.
i pay more than the stupid iphone 4 on the same plan and the same provider, such a load of sh*t
