AT&T seems to be getting a little anxious about the loss of the exclusivity of the Apple iPhone. They have been adding a variety of different smartphones to their inventory in preparation for Verizon competition.
Bloomberg reports:
AT&T Inc., facing the possible loss of its hold on the iPhone, is adding handsets at an accelerating clip and retraining store staff to help reduce reliance on its top-selling smartphone during the holidays. AT&T clearly has tried to diversify themselves away from the iPhone, and that’s probably the right strategy since they’ve relied so heavily on the iPhone these past few years [...] this handset strategy could shelter them from some customer losses.”
AT&T has also been changing their retail stores around trying to take away total focus on the iPhone and put a little more emphasis on other smartphone devices, primarily Android. They have even given their employees an alternate type of smartphone in order to be less dependent on the iPhone in a post AT&T exclusive iPhone world.
Let us know what you think and plan on doing as far as your carrier of choice when Verizon get the iPhone go ahead.

hmm, yes, Verizon has its special plans coming for Apple, I think.
Just read the news that Verizon has gone official with its plans to offer the iPad in its brick-and-mortar stores starting on October 28. There’s no CDMA iPad. Big red will be selling iPads bundled with MiFi 2200s.
