AT&T 4G network on schedule to launch next Summer

AT&T is on schedule and right on pace to roll out the mighty fourth-generation high speed wireless network by Summer 2011. If AT&T is still the exclusive US carrier for the iPhone, Apple’s fifth generation iPhone (to be released next Summer) will debut in unison with AT&T’s faster than ever network. The rumor is already spreading that the next gen iPhone will be named “iPhone 4G” it makes sense…

AT&T Mobility will launch commercial LTE service by mid-2011, and will cover between 70 million and 75 million POPs by the end of next year, a top executive said.

Stankey also touched on AT&T’s 3G network. AT&T is readying a nationwide HSPA+ upgrade for this year, which AT&T executives have said will allow the carrier to deliver real-world download speeds of 7 Mbps. In the meantime, the carrier continues to upgrade backhaul to cell sites it has upgraded to HSPA 7.2 technology.

So the latest rumor is, the iPhone will remain exclusive with AT&T and their 4G network, the new iPhone for 2011 will be named “iPhone 4G”.
Well we can only wait and find out, I’m sure hundreds of rumors will be spread by the time the “official” announcement is released by the main man “Mr Jobs”,
