Apple stated they will release a patch for the PDF font exploit that currently allows the Comex jailbreak.com jailbreak and malicious hackers to run code on an iPhone with the tap of a button. CNET reported a quote from an Apple spokeswoman:

“We’re aware of this reported issue, we have already developed a fix and it will be available to customers in an upcoming software update.”

Apple of course only provides updates in the form of complete re-writes, which means a waiting period until iOS 4.0.2 is released. Hopefully this one firmware update will be a fix for the proximity issues as well.
