Apple Sells Locked iPhones With No Contract

Today rumors started flying that Apple would start selling iPhones without a contract and possibly unlocked. Gizmodo confirmed an earlier rumor with an official response from Apple (pic below via- Gizmodo) the unlocked speculation turned out to be false.
Customers can immediately purchase one iPhone per day at full price without an AT&T contract or any form of ID. The price would be set as follows, $499 for the 8GB iPhone 3G, $599 for the 16GB 3GS, and $699 for the 32GB iPhone 3GS. Customers are limited to one per day with a maximum limit of 10 iPhones.
