Apple has been tracking your every move for the past year, the Government gets involved

Democratic Senator Al Franken is getting involved with the iPhone and iPad tracking issue, and he is wanting answers. Senator Franken was ticked off enough to write a two-page letter to Steve Jobs demanding a “prompt response” and wants an explanation and resolution:

Anyone who gains access to this single file could likely determine the location of the user’s home, the businesses he frequents, the doctors he visits, the schools his children attend, and the trips he has taken over the past months or even a year.

No one knows yet why Apple is collecting users data, but it has been done since version 4 released a year ago. This means that Apple has everything that you have done on your phone, every webpage you visited and every place you have been where GPS was available for the past year all stored on their data base. Kind of scary isn’t it, Big Brother has been watching you for the past year.

Senator Franken also couldn’t resist the urge to mention the virus issue:

It is also entirely conceivable that malicious persons may create viruses to access this data from customers’ iPhones, iPads, and desktop and laptop computers. There are numerous ways in which this information could be abused by criminals and bad actors. Furthermore, there is no indication that this file is any different for underage iPhone or iPad users, meaning that the millions of children and teenagers who use iPhone or iPad devices also risk having their location collected and compromised.
