Steve Jobs “has a thing about nudity” according Hugh Hefner the founder of Playboy. There was a rumor floating around of an uncensored Playboy app for the iPad coming to the Apple App Store. Unfortunately Steve Jobs put a stop to that and will not allow any form of nudity in the App Store. The good news for all the Playboy Magazine fans is that the digital magazine will be available as a web app for the iPad.

We are releasing a web-based subscription service with Bondi Digital Publishing that will give users access to every issue of Playboy both past and present. The service will be iPad compatible and will utilize iPad functions.

A spokesperson for Playboy went on to say that they do plan on releasing a non-nude version of the Playboy-branded iPad app into the App Store. So I guess it will be a read only version….. I hope they produce some good articles.
