Skobbler a German based app developer has released a free turn by turn navigation app for the iPhone. According to the iTunes page, it is totally free, no in app purchase, no trial period, and no subscriptions. So, how is Skobbler able to keep it free when other navigation apps are up to 50$? Skobbler relies on the users to keep the map information up to date, wikipedia style. Users can report errors directly to Skobbler if they notice errors on the map. Update are then pushed to the iPhone in real time.
