EA Studios released their previews of Madden 11 for iPhone and iPad. This year Madden 11 will be available for both the iPhone and the iPad, with the iPad version getting a few more exclusive features.
The hot routes feature have been expanded this season. This feature allows you to draw the path that the player takes on the screen before the snap. It allows for greater control in both offense and defense, you can also save your custom routes as a custom offensive play.
Madden 11 for iPhone and iPad have a few new features carried over from the console version. One is total defense control, this year, you will have just as much control over the defense as you do with the offense. This includes the ability to set hot routes for defensive players and also in defense you can slow the play down while it is in action and adjust the routes.
The offense also has Gameflow carried over from the console version of Madden 11. This is an automated play calling system for the purpose of speeding up game play. Instead of having to manually pick a play from one of the 30 playbooks, the computer will automatically choose a play for you. It does so intelligently by watching how you play and what will suit you best. You can override the play the computer chooses and you can disable this feature all together if you wish. This feature will come in handy for gameplay on a mobile device such as the iPhone and iPad.

Madden 11 has better graphics than last year, the graphics are higher definition players, fields, and even the crowds are unique to each stadium. Weather effects are based on the stadium location and date of the game.
The iPad specific features include on screen optimizations for a larger screen such as a passing wheel under your right thumb. This feature shows you all the receiver on the play and their status in a single location allowing you to select them very quickly. Another feature to the iPad version of Madden 11, will be the mid season update that will have the option to play the retro electric football game, you know the one that vibrated and the little players moved all over the field. Just a little fun option exclusive for the iPad.
Roster updates will also be free this year, EA took a lot of heat last year for charging for these roster updates, most of them with errors.
Madden 11 will be available for the iPhone and iPad on August 11, the same day as the console version is released.
